I'd like to believe that if she had been exceptionally well qualified we would have given her more serious consideration but her qualifications did not shine through in the interview process.
If it did not make them sound like they were doing the exact thing that it is intended for when they talk, I don't think it would bother me. However considering that the best she will ever be , or the most prompt she will ever be, or as best dressed as she will ever be is on the interview, then you did the right thing.

I was going to bring up the workplace thingie earlier..... The company I (still) work for has actually categorized "visible tatoos" as "unacceptable" in the workplace.
It is not enforced at the South Florida location where I am, but a few years back when I was in Atlanta with the same corporation, it was enforced, and kinda comical to see all these guys and gals covered with band aids all over their arms, shoulders etc.... :?

I don't want to start a venomous veer however in reference to bluesypicky;

I have mixed emotions. I think just because you employ me it doesn't necessarily give you the right to tell me how to live my personal life.

Oh I agree with that vision..... but when you're a corporate slave.... gotta go by the "Policy Handbook" or no more health insurance for you! :(
AKA: held by the..... forgot the word. :?
But that said, I am sure the Corporation I work for is not the only one carrying that policy with respect to tatoos, and one adult person should consider the possibility to have to deal with that situation, prior to going forward with the body inking project.... Unless your name is Lebron James of course, in which case Corporations pay YOU to expose your tatoos with whatever product they're selling. :wink:

Bro I totally hear you. That's why I said I have mixed emotions. I'm not advocating for tit-tats in the work place either. Civil service is similar....moustache and beard restrictions, hair length, so on and so forth. It's a tough gig. I commend your work ethic. But from where I'm sitting, seriously, which looks more silly; the tat or the band-aid covering it, everyday, on everybody that has one. Please.

Curiously in my workplaces tattoos are generally tolerated and dealt with under a general appearance policy and not a no or "must cover" tattoos policy. I think that is because many sailors and Marines of a certain generation have tattoos and they have also climbed the corporate ranks. No HR Department wants to enforce a policy where they have to ask The Boss to wear long sleeves to cover up "Semper Fi".

That would go over like a pregnant pole-vaulter on a hot summer day. :twisted:
