Hi everyone!
I'm new to the site and to guild guitars starting last week when i bought a 1994 s-100 reissue wich ended up to be a great surprise to me son nce it is one of the best made guitars i ever had.
I was actually looking for a sg when i found this one and reminded me the badmotorfinger era.
I tried it out and fell in love inmediatly.
I wanted to know more about the guitar and quickly i found out that information on guild guitars is hard to get in the internet.
Finally i got here.
I discovered mine is one of the first year reissues due to the serial number and some features such as the old style guild bridge instead of the tuneomatic, the rounded end of the fretboard and the the hb1's or at least the covers.
I think the pick ups are duncans (i read the great article gad published on his blog).
The only thing that doesn't seem right about the guitar is that i have this rather strange issue with the electronics.
It is quite weird and goes like this:
When i have the switch selector at the bridge or neck position and i roll down the volume conpletely i still get let's say 20% of the sound coming from the other pick up, the one that's not selected by the switch.
Also i was recording some hi gain stuff and i notice microphoic feedback and somehow a "hollow" sound that doesn't quite match the dark and full tones you'd expect from a mahogany guitar.
I think that this may be something about the wiring and i can't stop thinking about the out of phase switch.
By the way i had a sg custom from the seventies and i remember how obvious it was the sound when in the middle position wich was bridge and niddle pick ups out of phase, the s-100 is noticeable with clean settings but hardly when distorted.
Anyway, the main issue is the "opposite pick up leaking some sound when the main one volume is rolled down and shoul be conpletely quiet".
Any ideas?
Thank you so much and excuse my english since i'm from argentina.
