But wasn't the D-15M essentially the same guitar?

Tim,
The D15 on the right was/is an arched back, all mahogany.

Interesting photo in that (biker)Doc now owns the guitars on both ends. Hmmm.

Yes, with "less bling" and hand-rubbed finish at first. Seems I've seen 'em with gloss too, but I could be wrong. Mighta been D16's got gloss and binding, and there was even a D17. Actually I'm kinda surprised to see MOP headstock inlay on Joe's (now Bikerdoc's) D15. But notice no top/back edge binding. A small "economy of build".
There is "magic" in the D25 name though. It's well recognized and therefore a rare combination of wood/construction in that particular model would render it very desirable compared to its more "plebeian" cousins.
Kinda like a GTO compared to a base Tempest.
Soon after I joined I started realizing how much guitars were like cars in terms of model variations, at least for Guild, and this little family would be an excellent example of that.

I had a 17 I think it was High gloss anyway, but the nut was only 1 5/8,,,great for smaller hands than mine...great guitar though, tone and looks were excellent...Steffan
