Seller's description appears to be pretty accurate for a change -- looks in remarkable shape for its age, or any age.

Unfortunately I left my 13 grand in my other pants.

That's a very ambitious price, but indeed it looks like a very nice guitar. Has anyone checked the bible to confirm that 2158 is 1954? That is pretty darn early!

Good point, Sandy. Looks like a rosewood bridge. Can't tell about the fretboard from those grainy, crappy pictures.
I might get Hans'd, but I don't think there's ever been an F40 with an ebony fretboard. Maybe a GSR?

That's an F-50, Sandy. Right?

Gosh it’s exquisite. Made in NYC. Arched back too?

That is a very very cool guitar! Unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash in any pairs of my pants!

Sorry, but for that price there are other acoustic guitars (yes, more than one) I'd rather have.

Way over priced. It’s amazing looking. But they don’t show the “Jack repair” and 11 g’s? Come on now. Eeek

Saw that guitar close to 10 years ago and at that time the hole was already professionally repaired; looked pretty good!
Yes, this same seller had this guitar up for auction back in 2013 and they were asking $12,500 so now it's $1,000 off! It is pretty sweet.

... and they are using the same photos from 10 years ago.

Gorgeous burst for sure. Those rounded MOP block inlays are very nice. Great eye candy but waaaay above my pay grade.

Indeed, Ralf. Also, I'm sure Hans agrees or he would've said something earlier.

That's pretty amazing. This is certainly an early example of the F-50. Can't imagine it'll draw that kind of coin, but it sure would be cool to own this little piece of history.

Maybe 11 is the string gauge on the guitar...
