Beat me to it.Um... Rush?

Love Clapton post Cream. Not a Cream fan at all.
YES! I've always had the most respect for Rush and the talent of those three guys. But I, too, just can't take Geddy's voice; kind of like a sound you would hear at Sea World. I find YYZ one the of most fascinating songs by a Rock group; love the rhythms in it -- and, of course, Geddy's not singing! And Hot Tuna? And ZZ Top? I know that Rush have huge chops, but I just can't listen to Geddy's voice anymore.
Peter Paul and Mary?

Beastie Boys
Crosby Stills and Nash

I kind-a have them equal to Cream, but Bruce & Baker outclass Mitchell and Redding by miles and miles if only because both of 'em were magnificent composers as well as better players.Maybe we should mention the Jimi Hendrix Experience?

Uh, not sure you can call any of those a true "three piece" band.
Ditto, and a few other things like Derek and the Dominoes and the Robert Johnson sessions. Most of the time, he just mails it in.Ha! I only like Clapton in Cream!
