OK guys now you're making my head explode. Bottom line, numbers don't mean nothing until they mean something. 2 + 2 = 4. 4 what? 4 Guilds, or 4 gorillas.
"If 6 was 9" oops...wrong answer...that was for the 'maginary numbers challenge.
Just pretend you don't see it.

From "where you be?" to Pete Townshend, via maths..... I think our work is done here! :soap:

AND gates are cool (as is all Boolean Algebra) but the Exclusive OR gate is my favourite - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XOR_gate - used this to work out how to wire up two switches to control the one light (you know to change the light state whenever any switch is flicked). Useful stuff.
Is it just me or does anybody else sense some polarization goin' on here?

Nah, I got no problem with folks who get off on equations. Different strokes for different folks.

Many years ago I started a new job and got in a long discussion with my new boss about the odd ways that different people behave. In the end I was trying to find a way to back out of it and said "oh well it takes all kinds". My new boss looked me straight in the eyes and said, "no it doesn't". Didn't think anything of it but woke up in the middle of the night feeling frightened. If it doesn't take all kinds, who will be the judge? People who are different don't need to be polarized unless they they want to be. It's only polarizing if we believe that our being right makes everyone else wrong. I'm not willing to go there.

I like beer and cigars. Lots of folks don't. So be it.

Dang, I knew I should've italicized "polarization". Probably just guilty of makin' a pun too obscure again.
Must be my magnetic personality, some people're attracted, some are repelled.
Positive and negative states, wink wink nudge nudge...
I worked on a train once but they only let me punch tickets not collect fares, and I couldn't see the logic in it, but I was just a semiconductor.
(You can all groan and throw overripe fruit now)

Yeah well I still like beer and cigars. And if you don't, there must be something seriously wrong with you.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Even if I did, it still wouldn't logically follow that there wasn't something seriously wrong with me....
:witless:
For the record, beer yes, tobaco yes, but I prefer it blended with cloves.
NOW...about that boss who who didn't beleive it takes all kinds...I bet he's from the same place as my old boss who didn't believe in personality conflicts.
Yeah, that's easy to say when you're the boss......
:frown:
So, where was he from?
(how's that for slyly segue-ing full circle?)

I'm +/- 92.4% sure that we are products of our environment and he was from a very strict, uptight family.

I once worked with a guy who was so uptight he squeaked when he walked.
And it wasn't his shoes.
:numbness:
Me on the other hand, I was unwanted.
I was so unwanted, even my mother ran away before I was born.
