Are any of you familiar with the monkees movie HEAD? It's still one of my favorites for its surrealism and satire. Great music and musical sequences too.

My favorite western is THE COWBOYS, I think it was John Waynes last western, maybe one of his last movies.

My favorite war movie is THE VICTORS. I guess its more of an anti-war movie actually.

My favorite comedy is HIGH ANXIETY

My favorite feel good/tear jerker is OCTOBER SKY.

12 MONKEES is another favorite, but almost too tragic for me to watch anymore.

SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION might get the top honors.

THE VICTORS.
SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
Two of my Top Ten.

I saw The Victors at the post theater when I was in the service.
Understandably, the theater was filled with fellow soldiers and we all left with a not-so-good taste in our mouths. Especially moving was the Christmas Day execution scene and the accompanying music. Incredibly powerful.

Thanks for the reminder,
Joe

-The Straight Story. David Lynch's take on a true story. Sissy Spacek and Harry Dean Stanton don't do it any harm, either. Brings ears to my ties every time.

This is a fine film! I've not met many people who have seen it. Richard Farnsworth in the cast, too.

Oh, three more great war flicks I forgot- Kirk Douglas in 'Paths of Glory', Morgan Freemans 'Glory' and the original subtitled 'Das Boot'
