Yep, the usual, folks wouldn't spring for amplified drug-influenced electricity in '69 so they tried to placate me with a classical. ("If this works then we'll buy you an electric") Funny thing is, I still remember the very first thing the teacher taught us was "ergonomics", and I still play in classical position to this day. Tried to play rock on that guitar, even stuck a speaker into the sound hole and wired it to a tape-recorder for an amp! The first guitar I paid my own hard-earned cash for was actually another classical, I think it was about $90.00 in 1979, not a bad little piece and I still have it. Then a "Carlos" (anybody remember those?), my first steel string for $115.00 in '82. Still have that one too, even though it is unplayable. But my first "real" guitar was "Hally" in my sig, purchased new in mid-'97, although there was an '83 Fender F-210 gifted to me by my younger brother before that. Helped him brother select it, then he decided he wasn't going anywhere with it...it was stolen in late '95 and with a little advice from a buddy I found Guilds!
