Congrats Jazzy. Looks like they did a great job, and that's a beautiful guitar!

At this rate, I should get the D50 back by Christmas.

When did you send it in? Also, what work did you approve? I can give you a rough estimate of what to expect.

Thane said 90 days. They received it March 15th so I guess that would mean June 15th, thought the flood might have set them back a bit (even though it didn't affect them). It's getting a neck reset, full fret job and planing, new bone nut and saddle. Not nearly as complicated as your job I guess.

She's beautiful......by the way Jazzy........this has been a great thread. I've enjoyed reading the saga and being the owner of a DV72 and DV73, appreciate what's gone on here. I congratulate you for going to the effort to restore such a beautiful and unique piece of Guild history and for the reward it has brought you.

Agreed. It's important to preserve Guilds like this one. One of these days...

Well the good news is that you didn't need any finish work. The estimate is that any finish work is approx. 6 months out.
I think there's a pretty good likelihood that your D-50 should be done within the next month or so. I heard they're still a little backed up with non-finish work too.

Thanks!

I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out. The most satisfying thing is that the guitar I have now has quite a story behind it. More importantly, its in much better shape than it was even when I had first bought it. Its had a perfect neck reset, beautiful finish job, and the she rings out with rich harmonics for days and days.

My other (and darker colored) DV-72 needs a neck reset soon. Maybe once New Hartford starts on repairs/custom work, I'll send it in... assuming they can get it to me quicker than 10 months!
