hey Chazmo, just wond'ring aloud here...what does the TRC for a 12 string look like?

also, thanks to this thread, I now know my TRC is on properly. (funny this is when I got my bass, I thought B301 on the TRC was for a classroom it was used in :p ...that was long before I found LTG or even knew what a Guild was though.... I thought it was some crappy 80's knockoff brand as my bass surely looked the part when I got it....with the battleship grey paint and blue knobs and all)

Kevin,

The first picture above was of my 2010 New Hartford 12-string with one truss rod. Same TRC as the 6 strings.

What follows is from my 2006 F-512 from Tacoma... This guitar has two truss rods, but sorry the picture doesn't exactly highlight the TRC.

Back in the day, they made very cool plastic TRCs with white plastic layered in. In any case, the shape stayed pretty much like this through the years:

that second TRC needs to lay off the twinkies. it looks a wee bit bloated.

and yeah, I greatly prefer the layered TRC's with white layers in it. my bass' TRC and pickguard is covered in the multi layer plastic. it is very cool.

Only a few have the honor of wearing that ring. The best of the best. Always on the lookout.

What do y'all do when the screws don't get tight anymore?
Add a little wood filler to the hole first and try replacing the original screws; or, use slightly-larger screws w/ the same head size.

A little bit of trial and error goes a long way.

Here's one that my good friend Gary had custom made for me as a gift (God bless him......Coastie, you shouldn't have). A Bob Colosi origional, my DV73 sports it.

You can't tell by the angle of the shot, but I ALWAYS bend the string ends up and away from the headstock. That particular low E somehow ended up starting under the A string.....still bent up and away from the headstock though as you'll notice it passed above the D. :)

And Gary, I was thinking Colosi.....he must have made the pins, nut or saddle for your A25? Seems like I remember his name on an envelope at the house around that time? And I haven't bought anything from him that I can recall.
