Gig bags scare me.

For anyone who's afraid of Gig bags like I used to be, I recommend you get one of these: http://www.flyigig.com

I have one and it protects the instrument better than most hard-shell cases I've owned. I used one exclusively while traveling for over three years and love it to death. The zippers never failed, it never pulled a seam, and the guitar is VERY secure thanks to the design which included full neck support, a pocket for the body, and velcro straps to tie it all down. Highly recommended.

Meh, hard cases line up neater than gig bags in rows of 10+ against the wall... ;-)

I've been using a Mono bag for my AP Aristocrat, and I love it. Not worried at all! Of course, I don't plan on flying with it, despite reports that it would be safe.

It should fit an Aristocrat case it will not fit a case for a Gibson Bluesbird copy. It may fit a case intended for an Epiphone Wildcat or for a Gretsch Jet. But all of this is speculation until we try one.

I was joking, it is a Les Paul case.

Yes, I caught that. That's why I knew the case wouldn't fit. Les Pauls are skinnier than these.

The new Bluesbird fits nicely into the case of a '69 M-75 Bluesbird. I checked it this morning. Guild has a hard shell case for the M-75 on their web page, which I think would work well.

Has anyone seen a pic of the iced tea burst with the pickguard installed?

I had no idea the teaburst came with a guard. Are they not installed from the factory and dealers give the new owner the option? I love them without. I never understood why some manufacturers would screw a piece of plastic into such beautiful figured tops. I want one of these and hope I can find one not installed.

According to Post #8:

There's a cream-colored pickguard & bracket included in the case. So it's up to the owner!

Go for it!

+1 to taking pickguards off of electric guitars! I love the fact that Guild is leaving it up to the owner to install it or not.

Hey, at least it doesn't sit on top of the pickup rings. Nothing like plucking pickguard instead of high-E, lol.
