Nice!
When I moved to California I wanted to learn jazz in the worst way!
Went to the local Junior College, and they taught jazz in the worst way!
I’m no smokin’ Bebop guy, but love hearing it.

Pursuant to D-40’s, I had one with an Adirondack spruce top that was tremendous sounding.
Can’t remember which era. Might have been late nineties/early 2000’s.
Had to be a Tacoma, or at least no earlier than '05. They never used Adi prior to that. Curiously, Oxnard has dropped adi tops, although they still cite adi bracing.

I did not find anything in the thread that made a definitive comment about where the sander came from. I just reread the thread and I still can't find where it explicitly claims the sander came from New Hartford. Apparently I need more than that thread to jump to the conclusion that if it is old equipment and in Oxnard then it came from New Hartford.
You are correct, that info is not 100% given but looking at that "From Coast to Coast" video from July 2014 where the trucks roll in to Oxnard with the machines and where the sander is clearly shown makes it pretty clear at least to me it came from NH. And there is a ton of other machines as well (side benders, buffers, milling machines,...). That video series was made to document the move from NH to Oxnard and not Ren going to other factories and buy used equipment. I think there was even an earlier video where they loaded the trucks in NH with machines, have not searched yet for it.

I bet they all came from NH and not from other surplus auctions. I think Ren packed what he felt was required in Oxnard.

So I'd say anything you see in those early pictures came straight from NH as Ovation didn't need it. Actually some if not all of them can be seen in old New Hartford pictures and videos from the various factory tours there.

I feel vindicated but it is also pretty clear that more equipment was relocated than previously believed. I will try to adjust my recollections accordingly and hope we do not discover a video where we see equipment being moved from the factory floor to a dumpster and Ren complaining that he can't work with all this old junk :)

That occurred to me too while reading the post, domestic Ovation production had already been suspended and moved offshore during the acquisition, can't recall if they've come back yet.

So yeah a perfect opportunity for Ren to acquire the equipment.

Wouldn't they had to have band-sawed it first?
