I am looking at an ad for a t50 slim. No year details etc, only one pic. It’s local so can go play - I have a 1959 or early 60s Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gent which is a stunner, but I’m interested in expanding my electric collection. Any thoughts on the T50 generally, or pricing etc ? Any help would be much appreciated!

I would grab the chance at playing that guitar. Can't find one of those locally. I really like the thin body non cutaway no nonsense simplicity of those.

Thabks, Ralph!

I think it’s a reissue and waiting to hear back—- I’d love a vintage if possible but get the distinct impression they are rare.

Does anyone know if the T50 slim ever has the chesterfield? Just curious as I look around. Thanks!

EDIT: [ I was confused!].

Just to make sure, if we're talking about a T50 "Slim", we are talking about the The Newark Street "re-issue". The original vintage T50 was a Cordoba. (Thanks Walrus!)

So if you are asking about the vintage T50's no I don't believe they ever got a Chesterfield. Nor did the full body X-50 or A-50.

I thought the T-100 was a "Slim Jim"? I never heard the T-50 called that, but I could be wrong.

The "T" in T50 means "Thin", to differentiate it from the X-50, which had a wider body.
