 Thanks Kurt. That makes sence, and sounds better. I was using the Betty Lou's site chords ( the 'Easy version' site) for that one.
And, Yea, Too much sliding all around with the E shape, I know it 'works', but it's not at all 'right'. I'll have to learn to jump off and onto those shapes as I progress. But, using this song with the sliding E shape has helped me get my bearings on the chords and notes up and down the neck. I'll move on to the other bar shapes very soon.
Learning is slow, but it's coming faster than it has for a long while. Feels good. :D
Thanks for the tips.

Hey John and Kurt...Thanks much for those tips. As a recycled beginner, I too, have been trying to re-train my left hand on barre chords. Boy, It sure seems that left hand cooperated much better back in the day. I don't know what I'd do without ADVIL :?

Unfortunately, I won't be able to be "sittin on the dock of the bay" until next spring. We have snow predicted for this afternoon and freezing temps to follow. Dock's comin' out today.

Cheers,

Terry

Sounds like you'll get an early start practicing those barre chords over the Winter!

(Thanks for letting us hijack your thread!)

I'm not alone! :D
Glad the tips helped too RS, I sure am enjoying learning the bar chords with this song.
Grots chart is so much better, and I've moved on to using that one now, and things are going well. I love the slide bit at the end of the sentences ( C,B,Bb,A). Very nice.
And, Grots right, Practice those bar chords over winter, and by Springtime you can gather your guitar, amp, and self at the same beautiful spot and play Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay with 'ease' and style.
Thats a goal to aim for. :D The photo you posted is just so beautiful. A slice of Guitar Heaven. You should have it framed, and let it serve through the winter as a reminder that Spring is coming.
Sounds like we have some practicing to do.

A week past peak color, but still pretty ... even while shooting with a cell phone through the windshield.

It looks like you may have taken that shot yesterday (Sunday) afternoon TF. I had traveled from up north towards the twin cities yesterday, and we witnessed some of the the most interesting and unusual clouds on the way.

You are correct, it was Sunday afternoon. I had the boat in tow, taking it to a friend's house to get winterized.
