No, but when I clicked on the link it took me to your thread. I did not find anything there, an went through all of your youtube posts and still did not find it. Do I need to call it a night?

Wait, that link did not appear the last time I saw this thread! There is no way I could have missed that! :neglected:

I now know what happened, but not why. It put me into your thread with the sequence of posts different than my default, and this late at night I just couldn't handle the mix-up. I won't even try to figure it out, I will just listen...

Very nice indeed! I am up here in New England freezing my *ss off while listening to Jimmy Raney and getting ready to pull out my X-500 for a little jazz before midnight. Hearing some of your X-175 through that a la Jimmy Bruno or Grant Green would be more than worth listening to! Awesome amp...and playing!

That was just the pick-me-up I needed today to start my day here at work. Thanks Bluesy!
The tone is as mint as it looks.

Thanks Terry.
I was really impressed how it came through on the recording. It just shines in front of a mic. rings like a dozen bells!
My initial though was that I was gonna keep it a while and then resell it, but I'm not so sure I'll be able let it go now....

Nice tone! Wondering what your volume setting was. I thought I heard a bit of breakup in there.

Hey Dave! Thanks, surprisingly enough, with the same set up I use with the DR, it did not require any more volume than what I had on the DR.
It was set somewhere around 3. That's a sweet amp. It has a hum though that stops when I touch a metallic part on the guitar.... am I gonna die?.... :hororr:

Bluespicky, I always enjoy your playing; that was great. You always play with fire and soul.
I don't recognize that funny shaped guitar your playing, tho...
That vid made me plug in my ProRev and spank my SF 4.

Probably. Me, too. :rugby:

Eventually we all will. Some of us are little farther along than others. But, just to be on the safe side, don't play in the shower. I'm assuming it has a three pronged plug.

Nope. It don't. And thanks for putting things in perspective Cliff!... It helps. :courage:
I'm torn on the decision to go 3 prongs, because this amp is all original, and as close to mint as a 1967 will ever come.
But if I'm gonna keep it, that's probably the right thing to do.... Would that yank the humming off?

Thanks Dennis. Glad I gave you the push to grab your SF IV!

A wise old man once told me that you have to be alive to appreciate an all original, near mint amp. I would guess your body is grounding something out. Does it hum with all your electrics?

Steve, where you at?

I discussed orig vs. 3-prong with my amp tech on my '54 Deluxe. He said the you can flip the 2 prong over to see which is better hum-wise. With a 3-prong, you're stuck with the position. Safety-wise, if you want to keep it orig. replace the death cap with a new one. As least you won't be putting you're safety in the hands of a leaky old cap.

(On mine, a grounded cord won't fit in the hole without drilling, and I don't want to change any holes on that chassis.)

Bluespicky, my ProRev is a '74 that has been blackfaced and modded so there is reverb and trem on both channels, (a simple and easily reversible mod) and in phase so with an A/B/Y box you can do all kinds of cool stuff.
I haven't used it lately as I'm not in a band right now, but it sounded great when I cranked it up.
I really dig not only your playing, but your recording technique; you sound great even on youtube.

Thanks Chris, I'll try the "switcheroo" see if it improves the humming.

Cliff: yes it does with all electrics.

Dennis: I've always wondered about the blackface mod... would love to A/B the two side by side.
Was the tone difference noticeable to you after the "black-facialization"?
Have you ever had a chance to compare with a "true" blackface"? (Or did you get it already blackfaced?)
