WooHoo! That's in the same kind of condition as my closet find '66 Super Reverb

That one was so mint, it could have been confused for a re-issue. Yours looks the same, but I'm sure it makes better sounds than mine did!

It is. I have since sold it, but was absolutely astounded by the condition when I first saw it. Zero flaws anywhere, right down to no tolex tears even on the bottom, and even the original sparkle on the grill cloth.

Wow, that's time warp clean! You win the amp find award this month.
I have a '78 ProRev that's been blackfaced; it's sounds fabulous. Really, it's not much louder than my BFDR, but with the 2-12's, sounds huge.

Is your BFDR a one speaker? They came with two also later right? (My SFDR has two)

Sometimes the date is stamped right inside the chassis. I understand that happens with warrenty work.

Just the amp genius I needed!
What's my best bet if I wanna ground this lovely beast? Like I said: All stock. Including the 2 prongs power cord....

Bluespicky, as far as I know, DR's, BF or SF had 1 12" speaker. You have 2-10's?
I think sometimes people cut new baffles for 2-10's, but I don't think Fender issued them that way. Someone else may know more than I do.
I know ProRev sometimes came with 1-15 instead of 2-12.

Either that or I'm really getting old. I'll check when I get home later but I can almost swear I have 2 speakers as I remember moving the mic to one side to be in front of one of them....

The speaker isn't centered in the baffle (IIRC) and you probably position the mic to one side, anyway. You mic the cone, not the dustcap, right?

OK I'll bite...I mean, doesn't post #7 show 2 speakers in there?
Or are you guys just tossing this thing around to see who bites?
I fell for it, didn't I?
Whatever, if it followed me home, I'm sure I wouldn't kick it out.
:peaceful:
Nevermind I just figgered it out.
Yer talkin' about the Dee-lux , not the subject of this thread.

Yup. I'm getting old. Thanks for setting me straight Dave, (and others) as I was telling you on PM I must have had memories of the Prosonic... One speaker in my DR.
And yes, I mic the cone slightly off center.

lol. I have a friend that just moved to Coral Springs.

Road trip!

Seriously, buy a 12' cord from Hoffman Amps and a strain relief. Strip the the conductors and solder a ring connector to the green wire. That gets put under one of the transformer bolts between the chassis and the tranny. The old cord has two leads, one smooth and one grooved. The groved one is the hot, the smooth one is the common. The black wire gets soldered to the grooved lead's location. The white wire gets soldered to the smooth lead's location. This is probably the convenience socket. Just be aware that that socket is always live, even when the amp is turned off and that the socket is not fused at all. An average tech can do this for 50 bucks.
Just specify a 12' cord. Better too long than too short!
