If that is true that's hilarious.
For those who might be scratching their heads that wasn't actually my quote but it was from post #1 of this thread, which I cited in post #21 of this thread....
PS see post #14 in that thread for a confirmation of the genuine potential for one piece of machinery to take out an entire grid.

Guild posted another new model on Facebook on December 22nd:

They wrote: "We're cooking up some exciting new guitars for you guys! Here's a sneek peak at an archback we'll be releasing at NAMM."

Looking at the sapele back wood and the details of tghe guitar it looks like MIC, so it would be part of the "Westerly Collection" guitars. Sorry that I posted it here in the Oxnard thread...My bad...

Now what is not 100% clear to me, made in Oxnard or MIC? Looking at the sapele back wood it looks like MIC, but things like the pickguard look different from previous "Westerly Collection" guitars.

Anyway, what F-stlye arched back model would it be?

That sure looks like an arch back F20 to me Ralf, but what you can see of that label looks peculiar. Also, as you said, that mahogany has a distinct MIC look to it as well.

If they'd just have shown us the headstock we would know, wouldn't we? Damn!

What suggests to me that it might be domestic production is that I don't think an arch back guitar has ever come out of the Chinese plant. It certainly would have cleared things up if they had shown the label and/or headstock though.

True, that! I never even considered that point but, you're right. MIC are all flat backs. Eventually, all will be revealed. Sweet little guitar! I hope it's a short scale, but probably not.

OK so based on intelligent speculation I am going to virtually proclaim that the above pictured, speculative arched back F20 is MIA. I am drawing this conclusion based on the assumption that the arch back machine is still in the USA and the finish is most probably satin and is still in developmental stages. After getting a peek at the product recently posted on face book which looked like a satin finished, sunburst M20 I feel relatively secure in my speculative, assumptive, virtually, conclusive findings. Y'all can probably take that to the bank.

Just a nugget, Remember that they did make arch back acoustics in Mexico in the Arcos series. This means there has to be more than one arch back press out there.:ghost:

Another teaser on the Guild Facebook today page: "We got everything we wanted for Christmas this year--our very first M20 and D20. Happy holidays to you and yours!"

Here are the Oxnard made M-20 and D-20:

Agreed. All details point to a MIC made arched back guitar, not an Oxnard model. As a Westerly Collection model I wonder how they name it. Spruce and hog belongs in the 140 series, there is already the M-140 which would have been the F-20. So maybe a A-140? We will latest see in a few weeks at NAMM.

It sure looks like there's back bracing on both of these guitars to me. Perhaps that's the way these prototypes were made, and the regular production run will be arched? Interesting matte burst on the D20 as well.

"The sun will come up tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun." Just finished the dishes from Christmas dinner. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. Santa has left the building.
