Stuball48,
I mentioned to her in an earlier post that we were coming down to Florida, so she's probably gone into hiding.

Cynthia and family are well - but Mother Nature gave them significant wind damage on night of December 9th. No Internet service and apparently, residents in that particular part of Florida own their own electric/light poles and are responsible for replacing them themselves, NOT the Electric Company. All that to say lots of damage to clean up and set another pole. Said it could be a while before Internet back up but when Internet is back, she will catch up

Thanks, Stuball! I had clicked on her name earlier today and noticed her last activity was Dec 9, so yeah, that was a little concerning! Appreciate your update, big time!

Stuball48,
Perhaps us Guildsters could chip in, and we could send Cynthia a new electric pole.
She'd like that.

I'd also noticed her absence. Ugh...Fla, the land of homeowner insurance companies that are set up in mobile homes w/ the wheels still attached...and a tractor w/ a full tank of gas parked neartby.
Say what?

I'm headed out to hug my Generac right now!
If I had a propane tank I'd buy a Generac in a heartbeat. Tank, lines, regulator, generator, electrical.........just too much money. Had I put in a tank when we built, I'd be all over it. My wife is still furious with me that she has to cook on an electric stove.

"we could send Cynthia a new electric pole."

That would never work. We can't decide what electric guitar is best, how are we to agree on what electric pole would suit their needs in any sort of short time? What scale length do they need? What wood choices are there? Would they be able to get a non-wood body? What wire gauge? Is a bolt on top piece the only option or is a dove tail joint best?

It's a long shot purchase, but the hurricane threat of extended outages and the hassle of dealing with a portable generator sold me. Hope I never need it!

We have had a couple short outages, and it did work flawlessly...except for the rebooting sat TV boxes, which I solved with UPS batteries on each box. Serious overkill!

I do hope she at least got her power back...it's been a month almost.
