So sorry for the lateness posting this, but I mentioned that I had purchased a new Starfire I DC around Christmas time with part of my bonus from work! It did arrive perfectly in a box that is simply my favorite, just from what it says on the outside about how Guilds are "Made To Be Played"!

Once I opened the box, I knew this guitar would end up being one that I will keep with me for years now. The look is gorgeous and feels amazing to play! It feels so good that I'm taking it to an audition for a new band tonight! Hope you like the photos and also a surprise below that!

And for a special surprise, this is a Guild owned by Bill Haley that's on display at the Hard Rock Cafe here in Philly!

Congratulations on your new SF1 DC! It certainly looks nice. I’ve been curious about those; I’m looking forward to your thoughts after playing it awhile. Enjoy!

Thank you! I'll see how she does tonight with playing for a little bit of time. This will be the longest I'll have played it up till now!

Beautiful. I’m actually looking at the exact same guitar, so I am curious to hear your reaction. Also, does anybody know if you can add a tremelo to this model, or are the bridges in different places?

Thank you everyone! This guitar sounded absolutely gorgeous last night! It handled everything from clean to a slight bluesy crunch with no problems! The neck is perfect and I could move around on it like it was made for me!

I love it! Definitely a keeper!

I have to admit that the SF1 DC is a really great guitar. I have a similar one and am always blown away by the quality of the build. I tend to keep the neck pickup in single coil mode and the bridge in HB.

One of these days I'm going to do a deep dive comparison of the SF1 DC against the made in USA SF4 and 5's. I really suspect that I could do a truly blind test I may not end up picking a USA guitar. Those Indonesia made SF1 guitars are are really good. I would not rate the build quality of a SF1 Jet as highly but also enjoy them.

Pretty cool vintage Guild CE100. Swapped pickups and retired whammy bar with the Sorkin bridge.
Like the Quarter covering up Bigsby arm hole. I have been looking for an idea on how to cover up the holes when removing the hard stop if adding a Guildsby. Now I know how to do it!

Congrats to that nice Starfire I DC!

Also thanks for the mention of Bill Haley's CE-100. Nice! That guitar was only quickly mentioned already 12 years ago here:

I didn't know Haley's Guild was mentioned here before! I was really happy to see it displayed there when it was first put in (back around the time of that article.) A little before that I had written the Hard Rock to see if they would display one of Haley's guitars here in Philly, as one I know was on display in Vegas but they really needed one here since he lived in the Philly area and started his recording career here, too!
