Btw, i am playing through a shitty small Fender Super Champ amp which is really bright and sharp sounding in a nasty way on my other guitars.
But if i plug this guitar through it and put a little overdrive on, it sounds almost like a vintage les paul, and on the bridge pup it has a little of that telecaster twang.

Pretty awesome.

But i feel like it looks weird when i play John Fogerty or some other rock and roll songs through it, looks odd and out of place on a hollowbody  Even though it sounds great!

If you don't like "really bright and sharp sounding in a nasty way", I'd keep the wood bridge, at least for now... a TOM will just make it sound more like your other guitars, esp w your current amp.

My unsolicited advice would be to trust your ears, not your eyes. Let the guitar be itself for awhile and get to know it... I've got drawers full of pieces/parts I paid good money for because I made hasty changes to guitars only to change them back later.

I plan to change to a better amp soon, this one sounds terrible. I bought it when i was just playing for 1 month, at the time i had a Framus hollowbody and it had muddy pickups so i thought the amp sounded OK, but its really not good at all.

No, i ment purely that i think this sort of guitar looks good on you if your playing like 50´s rock n roll songs or blues. I just said it sounds really good on some more modern tunes aswell but i feel that it looks odd to be playing straight up rock n roll songs with distortion on a hollowbody, where the original artist used like a les paul or something! :p It feels out of place

So that calls for atleast 1 more guild thinline and a solid body

Guildsby, not sure yet, but if i remember correctly the holes are in the same place as the harp tailpiece.

Actually, I believe the holes to be slightly off. I have an X-170T, which came standard with a Guildsby. I have been doing the jazz thing almost exclusively lately, so I picked up a harp tailpiece and a rosewood bridge and was planning on replacing it myself. Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy. If I am not mistaken the two holes closest to the top of the guitar are slightly wider on the Guildsby than on the harp. The remedy was simply to have my local tech fill the original holes with dowels, and then drill new holes. Everything is completely covered up by the harp, and if I choose to revert back to the original harp one day I can just have the process reversed, again without any visible signs or negative affects on the instrument. As for the sound, it is slightly warmer with the rosewood bridge and harp. I'm sure others can chime in on this, but I hope it helps.

Here are the after photos...

Aloha,

I couldn't agree more! :D I actually had a blonde 170 and loved it, but always had my heart set on orange. When one became available I just had to pull the trigger. My next target is a 1963 Guild archtop electric in honor of my 50th birthday coming up next year. :D
