After watching this thing sit on CL for a month or more, finally decided to check it out, with a little nudge from Thunder.
Well, it was worth it. Great sounding, great playing guitar. Not to mention it was built during the year I was born. Happy birthday to me
Couple questions on this particular model. Mine seems to have a phase switch instead of the coil split. Also, with that switch engaged, middle position, if I role back on the tone knob, the out-of-phase sound seems to go back to a normal in-phase tone?? According to the last owner, this is how it has always been, and there appears to be no wiring mods done. Anyone got any info on these models RE: the switching? I know it's hard to come by since there were so few of these made.
Thanks, and glad to find a dedicated info source. Here's a pic of the S-275 that I lifted from an older thread.
