So I started doing what I always do when I get a new guitar and started taking it apart to clean it up. Apparently the pickguard has never been taken off before because it was stuck on, so I got a tiny flat head screw driver to pop it up and I broke off one of the tips.. not my smartest move.

This would look good as an addition to the "let's see 'em" thread with the outdoors shots. show it off!

Where could I get a hat like yours and what is it called?

Hello hagmeat,

It's a traditional hat from Afghanistan. It's called a Pakol. My partner bought me some on one of her trips in that region.
Unfortunately, in recent times, it's not always appreciated when you wear a hat like that! I bet you can get something like this on line these days!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hello Hans, Thanks for the info, I`ll seek it out, they do have them on ebay.
I need something that will cover my bald patch. Unfortunately I`m in recession.
Cheers Mate. Rob

Hans are you hording all the cases too?

Actually, I'm not hoarding anything! All the stuff I've gathered so far is for sale for repairs or making guitars complete. The only Guild cases that I've been hoarding in the past were for Guild Aristocrats but I have the appropriate cases for my entire collection now.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

So... that's where all the old Aristocrat cases are!

You might get a quick sale if you post it in the for sale section of LTG. A few people are looking for one of these.

I know right... But I have a line on a minty S-100. The guy wants a King's ransom for it though. I am willing to pay it, but I have get the $$ before I can finalize the deal.

The story goes that it hasnt been played since the early '80's... So I am currently in a SELL EVERYTHING situation!

I will hold posting in the for sale section since I already have had a few from LTG showing interest.

I'm actually quite impressed with people who are decisive enough to move on a guitar very quickly. I can never seem to do that. Good luck with the quest - sounds like interesting things are afoot!

It's usually accompanied with a high level of "gottahaveit-itis."
