I'm the proud owner of an old Guild! A very rare one indeed! I have a 1979 S-70, just picked it up last Thursday and I'm currently starting the process of doing a few minor repairs.

Small crack in the headstock, a tuner missing, one of the blender switches broken, but other than that it's solid.

Just jumping into the community.

Hi Buxom, welcome here! Those are very cool guitars, this one clearly has lived a life, but personally I love to see that in a musical instrument.

With a user name on my screen like buxom, I just had to say hello 8) and with a first post, I have to offer a WELCOME TO LTG!

That's an interesting Guild and one that I'm sure will get a bit of attention on this first Sunday in April.

Stick around, you'll like it here,

Welcome to the list. Good to see a classic Guild getting refurbished.

Buxom, you don't need the C clamps. Take the superglue and stick your index fingers to your thumbs.

Welcome to the lounge.

Gee, before I read that reply, I was going to say that guitar looks better than it looks, but I guess I'll hold my tongue, now.

Looks like there might be some nice wood grain lurking under that paint. Are you planning any refurbishment on the finish ?

Not refinishing. I bought it because I saw some kid lugging it over his shoulder in school, from very far away as well. I thought it was my idol's guitar at first.

Another type of glue might be preferable . . . Titebond, for example, or an epoxy.

If you post a photo or two of the headstock issue you're trying to repair, perhaps one of the LTG members who has extensive experience with repairs can offer some advice.
