Nice pics, welcome aboard. Can we get a good look at the 25?
Here it is. Still a work in progress. Poor thing was a factory 2d from the Corona factory with finish problems and a bad saddle slot. A non-guitar playing friend of mine took it as partial payment for some landscape work for his son to play. His son didn't want a red guitar. He did want my Epiphone Joe Pass though. So we traded. Lots of wet sanding got it to this point. Still more to do. Experimenting with the sound hole pickup.

HI Welcome aboard! I believe your D25 has a RARE finish color, well worth preserving/restoring. Looks great in the photos, I'd certainly be happy with that color! Unfortunately those Corona "Seconds" gave those guitars somewhat of a black eye for quality, but there're several of us here who consider them every bit as good as Westerlys, so when the project's completed it should be well worth the investment.
Keep us "posted'! :)

Yeah I like it a lot more now. The clear (nitro?) was sprayed on thick and lumpy with lots of orange peel. I wet sanded it with 600, then 1500, then 2000 grit. Then I buffed it with very fine steel wool. Now it's got kind of a satin finish instead of the cheap looking high gloss it came with. The neck really feels great after all the sanding.
It sounded like it had a pillow stuffed in it when I got it because of the saddle problem. I put a bone saddle in it with about 3/8 cut off each end to compensate for the uneven slot. Sounds a lot better. I think I've bonded with it now.
