New member and happy owner of two Guilds; A 1995 DV52 HG NT that I found in a pawn shop a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe it and nearly broke my wrist pulling out my wallet. Not a scratch on it and it plays and sounds great. Also a Corona D25 that I traded for. It's a factory second and kind of a project guitar I suppose. Really bad finish, laid on thick with lots of orange peel. Some wet sanding and polishing has made it much nicer. The bad news is a badly cut saddle slot. It kicks up at the treble end so that the saddle doesn't lie flat in the slot. I've sanded the bottom of the saddle at one end as a temporary fix but plan on replacing the bridge. Even with it's faults I really like it and it's become the guitar I play most now. Maybe you give more attention to your children that have problems? Always been a big Guild fan and now I'm lucky enough to have two!

Blue Heeler.

Australian ??

Well, even if you are, welcome to our lounge.

Same here. I've got a couple of herding dogs. Blue Heelers are cool, too. Vet friend of mine has them.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Not an Ausie. I'm in Texas, originally from Illinois.
Gretchen the Blueheeler was the best dog I ever had. She's been gone over 3 years and I still miss her. If this was a dog forum I'd have you all in tears.

A good luthier could probably route the saddle slot so that it was flat and level for you, for less $$$ than replacing the bridge. You might check into it...

You're right Gardman. That does make more sense. I'll check that out first.

Welcome Fastblueheeler :D

You won't have so far to travel to the Arlington (DFW) get-together in July if you want to meet up with some of teh guys and have a general jam session. Sadly I can't make it there this year :(

Welcome! That's a couple of nice scores. I wish I could run across a pawnshop DV-52...
