So many of us have lost good people this year and so we understand the sorrow and pray the memories continue to make you smile. A very long term friendship is terribly hard to lose.

Peace

Yep. I didn't bother mentioning mine, because I remembered Jim said he remembered last time a thread like this came up. Like I said, cancer sucks.

One way or another, I'm going to find a way to post a video of Warren for y'all. About 2 years ago, he dropped by the house to bring Mrs. West and me something. We began talking as I was sitting at my desk. About 10 minutes later, Warren walked out the door and left me laying on the floor in tears of laughter. My gosh and the smiles that guy brought. That was the last good visit we had. Do you ever feel like we don't spend enough time with those we love?.........then they're gone forever?

Thanks for the thoughts guys.

Yes, Jim. Those feelings occur all too often... How's your other friend doing?

Sorry, I had to remove a link I'd posted. It was a link to a video of one of my buddy's performances, but it had a link to my Facebook account on it as well.

Anyway, we lost Warren Bradley to cancer last night, and I wish I could share the video with you. Warren was a very talented impressionist with whom I'd gone to school since the 7th grade. If I can find a way, I'll post it for you guys, I think you'll get a laugh.

West

I'm sure you already know that no one who isn't your "friend" on FB will be able to see anything you don't want them to (check your security settings to lock down all the content you want to keep private). I say post the link and keep non-"friends" from seeing anything about you. Maybe if you put it in "LTGers only" you'd worry a bit less about unwanted eyes spying on you. Besides, I can get to your FB account through a few mutual friends you and I have. In short, if you want to share what you see as the best in your departed friend, please do so and I'll have a look - as I imagine others here will as well.

Sorry for your loss. Nothing says enough so I'll just reiterate - that SUCKS.

It's always unsettling to lose a friend or close relative.

The quality of the time we spend on this planet is very much determined by the company we keep - both friends & family. When anyone who has been a cherished part of your life is no longer there then it's tough, but everyone who has touched your life leaves some of themselves with you.

RIP Warren & condolences to you West.

And I've lost another one today. When I was 4 years old my family moved to Texas from California and it was then that I met David. He and I did Cub and Boy Scouts together, we played baseball and football together, went to all of the same schools, then college together, celebrated holidays and ended up working together for over 31 years.

This shot was taken last Saturday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. David was diagnosed with cancer 40 days ago. He died this morning at 11:00. He will be greatly missed by his friends and his enormous and loving family. How are they gone so fast? Why him? All questions for a much higher power than us.

Sorry Jim. Two friends in such a short space of time and during the holidays too. I'm sure that makes it even the more difficult on their families...

The older I get the more i understand each day is a gift.

Sorry to hear about David's passing, Jim. Losing a close friend is really tough. You and David's family are in my thoughts and prayers. It'll be a tough Christmas.

Like others have said before, sorry for your losses. Cherish the memories as it sounds like you've had many great ones.
I will surely keep you in my prayers and thoughts as you go through these tough times.

So sorry about your loss Jim. I lost a good friend in similar fashion a couple of years back; I think it was six weeks from diagnosis to funeral. Losing your friends is one of the more unfortunate facts of getting older, but as they say it "beats the alternative". :(

"Good God! How often are we to die before we go quite off this stage? In every friend we lose a part of ourselves, and the best part." Alexander Pope

Jim,

Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of the loss of your friends. Friends....God's great gift to help us through this journey.

My prayers are with you and your friends' families.
