Never thought I would see the day. Now that it is legal in Michigan, there's a dispensary on every other corner, I get emails from them, people are even selling bud on Craigslist. Blows my mind.

It was legalized here in 2020 and the state has been dragging its feet getting dispensaries et up. Some politicians are raising hell about it, so it might finally happen.

Starting in July of 2021, Virginians can grow four plants in their back yard, perfectly legit. We don’t have legal sales yet, but who needs it?

Four plants, well-tended, can yield close to two pounds of dry bud in the rich, fertile Virginia soil. And that is a LOT of pot!

Literally as easy to grow as tomatoes.

Neal, this is hysterical because we've had weed for almost 2 years now but it's all government controlled and taxed. They created a real problem with cash vs. cards and .... what a mess and then CA, AZ and everyone around coming for miles to buy this overpriced shit. If they can grow a couple of plants in VA, I applaud your state!! That's true freedom. Even though it's legal here, we get some CBD elixer from a friend and it's illegal. Imagine that? Hooooo boy..... (y)

(he drops it off nearby and we do the money drop by the neighbors pine tree. OR he drops in my truck when we're out and acts like he's broken my window so it looks like a setup!! C'mon.... kids need to calm down. LMFAO... )

It seems that members of the Virginia General Assembly had absolutely no clue how much pot can grow on a plant under full Virginia summer sunshine. Outdoors. No lights required. No nasty chemicals. Just well-amended garden soil and an occasional drink of water.

Ct is rolling out retail sale later this years, October 1, I think. Will be able to grow your own after July 1, 2023, but it must be indoors. Possession has been legal for a while, maybe since last summer. Some towns are passing "no pot sales in our town" laws and most are debating zoning for retail sales.

It's only legal when you can grow it yourself like a tomato.

It is part of the creation, you don't need a permission.

Get thy laws off my body.

Is it the Land of the Free, or the Land of the Fee?

In Canada, it hasn't worked out the way governments, federal and provincial, thought it would.

One of the priorities was to decriminalise pot. There were a few of aspects to this priority: freeing up police and court resources for more serious things; stopping saddling young people with criminal records for simple possession - law enforcement wasn't working anyway; and most importantly removing revenue from hardcore criminals and gangs.

The last and most important aspect of decriminalisation has not worked at all. Free market hardcore criminals and gangs have been able to out-compete corporate growers, both on price and potency - potency because the criminals are free from government regulation. The criminal element has probably taken some revenue hit because some people would prefer to purchase legally, but the criminals are still here.

In the capital investment rush to profit from legalisation, the legal pot business became over capitalised. Too many producers. Too high hopes by investors. There has been a bit of a market bust. Some producers are struggling. Some are having to merge, I think. It will take time to sort itself out.

Governments collect tax revenues from legal sales, much as they do with alcohol and cigarettes, money which should go into healthcare. This is good. Criminals do not pay taxes, except perhaps through sales taxes on luxury cars.

Is this all a good thing or a bad thing? Yes.

It became legal to grow and buy a few years ago in MA. Good for people who are helped from the medicinal benefits. I don’t use it but make no judgement whatsoever. It is very weird however after growing up in an era where you could do serious time for being in possession. Very weird.

Just a word of warning for gun owners. It may be legal in your State but it is still banned Federally. If you buy from a dispensary and the data makes its way to the Feds then you become a prohibited person.
