We had a lot of ice last Friday - lost power for eight hours. Time enough to get out and take some pics. Our driveway crosses a small stream, and makes for some pretty scenes. The best part is that the roads were just wet - no ice at all. The ice was all gone by mid afternoon.

Tom,

We've been working on the Triumph and needed space to open doors, so the grape Volvo got put outside. I've told my Dad I'm going to start coming over on Wednesdays to do Volvo work and I and the wife will keep coming over on Saturdays for the Triumph. I just need to to say light longer to get much done. I guess an hour and a half is better than no hours.

Falling on ice is bad, be careful out there fellow LTGers. Last week, a neighbor of mine's 51 year old son fell on the sidewalk ice in front of their house and hit his head. Refused to go to the ER, but the next morning was all messed up, and he died the next day of a brain hemorrhage. Just talked with the neighbor yesterday, he's crushed.

OMG, walrus!!!!! My condolences to your neighbor. Yikes!

From a couple weeks ago. Not much action in the video, but I added a recording of the train -- the "star" of this video -- recorded from the same spot as the camera. The train is across the river on the other side of those trees. Love the sound of the train going by. (It's not nearly as loud inside!)

Dodged a bullet here on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Massive rainfall and floods just north of me, right up the coast and into Queensland 1,255 kilometres away.
Figures like 1500mm in 48 hours - that is equal to 80% annual rainfall in 2 days.
500,000 people on flood alert, be ready to evacuate.

Hot, sunny and humid here today - you can watch the grass grow, my lawn is laughing at me. Hope the poor people north of me are getting a break.

I was just far enough south to avoid the really nasty stuff.

In Southern California the torrential rains (we needed the water) would always come at the end of the horrible fire season. Anything that could hold the hillside back was gone, and then slides and floods and houses falling down the hillside and closing roads. Seemed like every year. I hope everyone's okay, Bruce!

I wish there was a way to send some our way. In metered amounts, so that Tom's hillslides don't happen. I'm in the flat desert, so it wouldn't bother me, but, I don't wish anyone living on a hillside bad things.
