I also think eBay is dying in the instruments section.

The rest is a minefield of crap.

eBay at one time had nerve to cancel your ads at one time for "keyword spamming", like saying "Gibson strings" which of course there were a millions ads like that, but if you, some lowly schmoe, dared say anything that could be construed as such could have their ad taken down along with a stern warning about your account being in grave danger, of suspension for subsequent "offenses"...

Now, in a stunning flip flop, if you research, say... 1995 Subaru Legacy front brake pads, you will get pages and pages of things that "may also fit your 1995 Subaru". Unless you have your own part numbers, you're screwed, you have no idea what you're buying,

The last thing you want to do is order parts that don't fit when they get there.

Also, the quality of things can't be inspected. Stainless/brass fittings. Lots of crude/inferior parts, things you get in the mail may not look anything like your old fittings.

If I had a job where I needed more than one of two fittings, I'd drive the 100 mile trip to town and back to get them in person, at a parts counter.

Not to jinx but I did have an amazing Rverb transaction, still basking in the afterglow.

A very cool cat from Cali bought my somewhat legendary '63 EBO, his first vintage bass he said. He sure knew how to pick em. I used Reverb's shipping, which obligated a $27 "safe transaction" fee at that price point (otherwise optional below $1500?), where they handle all problems and I presume have the instrument insured correctly. It was a no brainer, I chose USPS Priority, 2 days from WA to CA for slightly less than $100 with $27 fee included, and after a few days, Reverb disbursed funds. Never have I had such a seamless transaction.

Looking forward to about 20 more ;]

I suppose I could put a list up of what I have here somewhere, but everybody here's already broke from buying too many guitars I'm fearing... My target audience is those without too many guitars already ;]]
