I suppose the headstock broke off - after that someone deviced that two-piece contraption.

IF the original headstock were included and no wood remowed of it and neck-end - there might be a slim chance of rescuing it.

A great project for someone - @ 100USD tops . . .

With a little work you could convert this to a 12 string. Maybe tune it down a half step to be safe.

Yup, they converted a flattop into a resonator and literally threw in the kitchen sink.

Other than the noiseless pickups, that's probably pretty useful.
