Welcome 10out.

Comments on the image thing. Whenever you are creating a post, there is a preview button at the bottom. If you press preview and do not see your image then something is wrong. If you are putting anything in the IMG tags then a sanity check would be to copy what you put there and paste it into the address bar of a new browser window. If the new window does not show an image and just the image then using that link in an IMG tag certainly will not display the image.

Using an example from your first attempt what you had was
{img}http://img163.imageshack.us/g/guildd70ntpeacockd70003.jpg/{/img}
(I have replaced the square brackets with curly ones so that people can see what is going on.)
The image does not display. I copy http://img163.imageshack.us/g/guildd70n ... 70003.jpg/ and paste it into a web browser and I get a page of images from ImageShack and not just the single image I was expecting. The obvious solution of dropping the final slash does not work. So I click on the image I want and it displays. I right click (because I am using Firefox, although IE has similar capability) and select Copy Image location. I get http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/158/ ... d70003.jpg and paste it in to an address bar and I do get the image. So I change my image tag to be {img}http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/158/guildd70ntpeacockd70003.jpg{/img} press preview and see that things work.

Just trying to be helpful

Are you really claiming to have been "out of school" by the mid-1940's? If so you may be a candidate for the Senior Geezer on LTG.

Thanks all. I will most likely be selling this guitar, so keep yer ears peeled.

Thanks for the primer, fronobulax.

OK, so maybe computers were invented. I guess my school couldn't afford one.

Just pickin' on you. It took 20 or 30 years before computers were mainstream enough to show up in classrooms and curriculums.

ps - what is the "Asian" look?
Hi Peter; was referring to the ornately decorated pg ... very elaborate decorations like that are common in Asian and middle eastern art and architecture. I wonder if the model was 'aimed' at the Gibson songbird models? A very pretty guitar!

I figured so. I thought the same thing when I saw the pickguard. The peacocks have kind of a "dragonesque" look. I must say though, the quality of the inlay is excellent.

Thanks to all, especially you Nigel. I am looking forward to some feedback.

You are welcome 10Out'. Glad I could help.

I think I have seen one of these listed on eBay, before. My recollection is that it didn't sell.

That is certainly some of the prettiest Koa, I have ever seen. A beautiful guitar, for sure.

I would agree. The workmanship on that pickgaurd inlay would appear to be exceptional.

Hi Sandy,

It sounds beautiful; full, rich and very clean, like a Guild should!

Cool. I'd like to have a Koa some day. I just passed on this one, and the buyer got a great deal on a beautiful guitar.

The GAS fund is diverted into the CAS (new car) fund right now, and the last car I bought new was in 1983. I'll be back, though.
