Greetings,

I am a newbie on this site. This looks like the place to be to find out as much as I can about my Guild DK 70 NT Peacock (#700031). I have picked up bits of info on this guitar, but nothing that would help me to place a value on it should I decide to sell it.

It is what I would classify as near mint. It may be considered mint, but I am unfamiliar with the criteria. I cannot find a blemish on this instrument.

I played it out two or three times. It is has a sweet sound. Other than that it has been in a guitar friendly, humidified environment since I acquired it (1999?).

I had it gone over from top to bottom this year by the same technician that has worked on and set up all of my instruments since the mid 70's.

It is Westerly built. At one time I was told there were 50 of this model built and the serial number suggests that this was #31 out of 50.

Any accurate info I can recieve regarding this instrument will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

Good day, 10Out'. :D

And welcome to LTG.

I think I speak for most everyone, when I say: 'we're gonna need to see some pictures of that 'git.'

Welcome to LTG! I'd second the call for pics. Don't know of anyone else here that has a Peacock. There was one that would periodically appear on ebay and GBase a year or two ago. As I recall, the original asking price was around $3K... but it slowly declined through several auction postings. I don't know if it sold, or what the selling price was.

Hey All,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I have tried to attach a link to photos of the Peacock. I am not sure if I did this right. If not, bear with me. I'll keep tryin'. Computers weren't invented when I was in school.

Thanks capnjuan,

Those are the instructions I followed. I am using a 64 bit system. I don't know if that makes a difference, but I will attempt it again.

I post pics a bit differently... just copying the pic URL from the address line of my browser, and pasting it into the img tags on my LTG post.

One of my most common mistakes (usually when I am in a hurry) is forgetting to add ".jpg" to the end of the URL within the image tags. Some pic hosts will automatically add the jpg tag to the end of the URL/filename... but my host doesn't, so I have to add it manually everytime I post a pic.

Check/edit your post... look at the URL in the image tags. If it doesn't have .jpg at the end, just add it...

I use photobucket, it loads any picture in seconds. It re-sizes them to 600x800 automatic-like.
Then ya copy the IMG tags and paste them here.
I wanna see this guitar!
