lists all the Starfires as being "semi-hollowbody" among other things :)

Well there is an educational process at work. I used to describe my Starfire bass as a hollow body since the only alternative I knew about was solid body and it wasn't that. Then someone who liked precision in language pointed out that with a center block running the length of the body, my Starfire was not hollow but semi-hollow. Then I discovered that when you start with a solid body and carve out chunks the result is chambered, not-semi-hollow. One can only imagine how wrong the catalog would be if my younger self had been writing catalog copy for Guild :)

So, the gig bag for my Stafire 1V 12 string (Gator PG-335-V) finally turned up and I have say, the build quality is superb.
My guitar fits in perfectly and there is excellent neck support and protection throughout. The zips are heavy duty and appear to be pretty unbreakable. There is more than enough storage onboard with one huge pocket and plenty of sealable pockets, but without making the bag bulky. The gig bag even comes with (detachable but stored onboard) rain cover!
One big let down though, is that the shoulder straps are set too low, making the bag top heavy and slightly awkward to carry, and, turning you into a hazard for people in close vicinity!! 😄

However, all in all......... superb protection and absolutely EXCELLENT value for money, Gator just need to sort the back straps issue.
As I discovered, there is not much choice for a gig bag of this size and quality.........I would definitely recommend this one!!

Brian.
