I would love to know the story behind this poor G&L Legacy. I have never seen a G&L damaged like this before. Ouch!

At the time, My Dad and his band mates would have happily choked Pete Townshend and discretely disposed of the remains. No love here for musical instrument abuse.

If that fracture is as clean as it looks from the back, there's no reason it couldn't be repaired. Then I guess you'd decide if you were gonna refinish it or not. I'd love to see the other side. It looks like a glue and clamp project to me..... but, how the hell did that happen?? Wow!!

Exactly! There's no indication it was bashed and the case appears to be in good condition. A puzzlement!
Well, no indication from this side. If it took a great deal of sudden weight on the front, while supported only on the sides, then it could snap in the unsupported middle. Is this a Tribute model or US build? Load could have shifted inside a shipping container onto the body.

As Tom said, the breaks look clean and could glue back together without too much of a fuss. Disguising the break in the paint would be the trick. (Or, emphasize it with some Frankenstein stitching graphics!)

A little glue...ok a lot of glue, some wood bondo and some paint and she should be back in action.

Damn, that's an ugly fracture! Even looks like there's another hairline fracture from the neck plate screw to the trem cavity that continues from the back of the cavity to the tail of the guitar. That had to be the result of some serious shifting weight....like a freakin engine block on a pallet! Yikes!

Ok, so this is some years back, this buddy of mine Jimmy who's a guitar whiz - handily winning GC guitar contests, not for slouches - is leaving his apartment downtown one morning to go to work at the most famous pawn shop/music store in town, selling guitars.

He's dating this gal Allea, and I don't know why but as he walked by under the apartment window, he heard a sound, looked up, and his black Strat covered in stickers was flying down to the sidewalk, body first, straight for his head apparently and he ducked out of the way.

The only reason I know this is because I happened to go into the store that day, and it was there, looking a lot like the one the OP posted, lol, and worse ;]]] The only thing holding it together was the stickers.

He never said why she did it, but she was known to be a little crazy, and by some super odd twist of fate, his then girlfriend and later wife turned out to be the ex wife of the guy my ex married.

The gal Jimmy was dating and later married had 4 kids with and then divorced the guy who 10 years later married my ex.

At birthdays I get to see all the kids, and grandkids, lots of grandkids.

This is my youngest grandkid.
