To the extent that I can find information I am willing to trust, I will note that the mortality rate for those above 60 appears to be higher for the Corona Virus than "the flu". Maybe on LTG some anxiety is justified? ;-)

Possibly explained by the existence of an annual flu vaccine, which is apparently ineffective for corona virus.

Mortality rate would be for folks who actually contracted either disease so the vaccination issue doesn't come into play.
Not to be confused with infection rate which vaccination addresses.
Although the Corona virus is said to be "a lot" more infectious than flu and that's part of the reason for the "big worry".
