I have now and I have to agree with Walrus, he's a hoarder! IMHO a collector wouldn't have fifty Fender Coronados!A collection, (in my definition) should be like what is seen in a Museum, where they strive to obtain one example of every "species".Anybody could just buy every D-55 they've ever come across. It's much more difficult to have one of every model dreadnaught guild has ever made!To each his own!

Couldn't have said it better myself. He's a freak with a lot of discretionary income, most of it wasted, in my humble worthless opinion.

I wonder what else he does and how much his insurance premiums run. :?:
Just pondering, Joe
That's what came to my mind first.
Isn't Missouri known to be in the path of "tornado alley"?...
And I agree with the comments questioning the whole thing.
If you're going to pack that many guitars under the same roof, at least make it a public attraction, charge a couple bucks for the visit, I'm sure many folks into guitar will do the stop, if not the trip, just to go see that. It IS unique.
Here, it seems like it's all going to waste. Only himself and his close friends I guess, get to enjoy the view. :?

More pondering....

Between the Bar and the Jukebox!
Springfield is in South Mizzou just about 30 miles north of the music city Branson. I am sure in that musical area there are lots of fine and unique instruments available to a shopper with discretionary funds.

When we watched that last year, my wife gave me a look that I like to think said: "maybe a few guitars is not such a bad thing". Could be deluded.
Funding mustn't be a problem. :|

Sometimes, the ACQUIRING becomes the passion and the ENJOYING falls by the wayside. It's great to have good things. And it's good to ENJOY those things. But sometimes the ACQUIRING becomes too important and then it's just HOARDING, like has been said. Would I like to have more guitars? Maybe. Would I enjoy the ones I have more... probably not.

It's a corruptive type of indulgence.

Are there any of you out there that are totally happy with what guitars you have right now?

I'm wondering. :?: :?:

I do believe you've nailed an important component of GAS right there, Tom.
It brings the far-reaching/wide-ranging side effects of our shared malady to light!

Well done,
Joe
