Alone for a week, am I hopelessly antisocial?

They spend a lot of time outdoors together, they play.

I need to get the other cat spayed, that will mellow her out.
We know you're practically insane.... and you're acting like that's a problem, you know?? C'mon....

We trapped and neutered 6 feral cats, because they were nice(ish) and we didn't want them dead. But the last two were hard because the more you have the more you trap.... over and over. It's like Hey Ralphie!! What you doing in that trap?? because he's such a pig and wanting even MORE food..... so it was tricky. And after 6 months of hell we caught them all. And they were neutered. And within 3 years before we moved they were all dead or gone. Except for Ralphie and Misery. Then we moved and the only one who stayed was Ralphie and he looked like this.

Such a great cat. He was a doll. When we bought the house he got left behind and so we kept him (of course) and he moved with us. He got really old and wasn't moving very well and one night when we got home (short driveway up a steepish hill and turn, you can't see where you're going) and he just didn't move and I drove over him. I was hysterical for a while but it was quick and easy for him but..... can you imagine? I want another cat but we'll probably get an older or more mature kitten. I'm not sure I can deal with "kitten" at my age. But then Don has the effing parrot and ... hooo boy. In Vegas they kind of have to be indoors because .... well, the HEAT. I'm an indoor person at this point because... well, the HEAT. So yeah.....

@Guildedagain trap quickly before kittens and make it yours. And then make all kinds of rules about future cats, that you'll never follow. It's called adult-ish......

When my wife and daughter went on vacation, I ordered this. When they returned, they didn't even notice. :p

I'm the type to be perfectly at peace spending 2-3 weeks alone hiking the Appalachian Trail, or taking a solo vacation to a remote part of the country during their off season from tourists (spent 2 weeks hiking the Grand Tetons w/ just me and my camera 2 years ago)......BUT, while at home, I LOVE having friends over, entertaining, cooking, BBQ's, etc. I've been blessed by have the rare luxury of still having the majority of my core group of best friends since high school within an hour of me, some even going back as far as elementary school. My house is their house....and their door is always open for me. If I don't see any of them for 6 months, or I see them every weekend, there's no difference. Having that much shared history tends to defy time.

And of note...based on China, and now also much of Europe, this dreaded Covid beast isn't over yet.

I have to clarify what I wrote earlier about my wife.

I did not mention, that now and then we have parties w friends - sometimes some new persons come along - and she goes thru all possible things to make sure house is in shape and she will prepare wonderfull food for everyone - she's magnificient cook. I'm lousy in kitchen - except that I'm master dishwasher . . .

Now it is saturday evening - and she just hit the hay - couple hours back someone tried to call her several times - she did not answer, while she knew, that when that person calls on saturday evening, she ( the caller ) is more or less drunk and starts the coversation w demanding "Why did you not answer me, when I called?" - then goes on without listening to anything to what my wife says . . .

I understand PERFECTLY why some people keep their privacy - and are sometimes not available or within reach - except for The Dog 🐾 🐾 🐾
