Nice Slingerlands Guildedagain - I had a few of their kits including Radio King back in the day. Restored/rewrapped a few kits along the way. Takes me back. Wish I had pics of them - but at the time pictures cost real money to develop, and my money went into Zildjians.

Cool pump.

I'm thinking my Stingray was orange with a tiger striped seat and Cheater slick....had to be a big purchase for my parents back then.

As much as I loved it my friends graduated to 10 speeds at some point and I couldn't keep up with them.

Raleigh and Peugeot 10 speeds........wow.

I had a Columbia Playbike "88" the same color as this one:

Playbike 88.jpg

After a while I had to replace the bent fork and could only get a blue one! Somewhere I have an old Polaroid Swinger photo of me jumping my bike. Haven't run across it in a while though.

My Dad made a set of "Wheelie-Wheels" using a skateboard wheel truck. It had bars that came down from the seat.

I got one of these to mount on the wheelie-Wheels to slow me down at the end of a fast run!

We had a big hill in our neighborhood and I used to going bombing down the hill and "hit the chute" at the bottom! There was a pull ring that you ran up to your handlebars, and the holes in the back pushed the packed chute out of the box.

Yeah, that Schwinn is pretty cool.

Pics of the bike!
Ah yes. In my neighborhood, if you had an Orange Krate with the stick shift, you were bad-ass!

My brother took his rattle can-sprayed banana seat bike, extended the forks like a chopper, and then somehow swapped in an old steering wheel for the handlebars. He was the king of the street with that bold move!

I remember the steering wheel swap became a thing after some company put out a bike like that.

I have to admire others' dedication. I gave up manuals a while back. Although this one was probably overkill, it has a memory, so I simply connect it, hit the switch, and it shuts itself off when it hits the chosen pressure.

I hooked up a little 1.5 hp compressor on our garage shelf, which works for our vehicles, bikes, and other misc. tasks. Works fast and perfectly.

This is the Stingray Jr. with ape hangers robbed off sister bike Stingray Fair Lady, now switched back.

The first pic stirs up old regrets -- one I couldn't do anything about, the other I could have: Never owned a Stingray; and when young and more stupid I sold an old 60s Ampeg portaflex bass amp.

I wound up in the hospital twice as a kid because of my bikes -- if I had owned a "California Drag Chute" I wouldn't even be here to post this right now!

Staying with the vintage Schwinn theme...great for running errands with the fold out baskets

Those side-baskets are downright genious. Anybody make something like that today?

When I worked in the bicycle shop, we installed a lot them on bikes for kids who delivered newspapers and for college students. They fit Schwinn bikes perfectly (of course, since they were a Schwinn accessory), but it was always a challenge getting them installed on other brands. I doubt they are made anymore.

Wahl makes them and they also make a grocery bag the exact same size. I put them on 3 of my other bikes they are so convenient.

The hand pump (the broken one) takes two people to inflate anything. If it's just me, I have my trusty Craftsman mini one. Ditched the huge, big tank one during the last move. This works for cars and bikes. Handy and not too huge.

I put some on my wife's bike because she's always hauling stuff around.
