Today it made sense to buy this.

The Cadillac of air pumps, steel, rubber, wood and brass.

I'm really pumped about this one.

Yesterday I realized all my tire pumps are junk or inadequate, I have trouble getting bicycle tires up past 20 psi, which isn't enough, even for this little peewee Stingray Jr, needs 45psi although the 70's vintage original Schwinn Westwind front tire and Stingray Grabber back tire might not like it.

-I had been using this old pump for years, the hose really going bad so I replaced it only to realize it really is pretty tired, no puns intended.

Saving the air chuck from the swedged brass fitting, very thick brass.

This old chuck.

The one on the left is old faithful - had it for 30+ years or so. They did a fancy limited edition 100th anniversary model a few years ago) on the right) and I was prompted to pull the trigger when they offered a blowout special. I still use the old one more often.

Ignorant question: Are newer pumps more efficient at all?
Yes. This Park is much easier to pump and also requires fewer strokes than the Silca Pista in my other post. But I rarely use it because I prefer the Silca which is more tactile (if that makes sense).
