So does the M85 have two Bisonics or was one "upgraded"? The neck looks like a Guild humbucker but 1968 is too early.

The M-85 has two humbuckers. It appears that I'm wrong (yet again) about the year. According to Guild, it is a 1974. I thought I had looked it up before.

Thanks. What about the bridge? The metal saddles are almost certainly not original. The bridge looks like the bridge used on a 90's reissue Starfire but it could be that what looks big screws to adjust intonation could just be slots and shadows.

No clue. It was that way when I bought it. It plays and sounds beautifully.

That thing is bee-yoo-tee-ful! And I say that as a fellow M-85 owner. I really like that color - mine is just "red" (it's a 1971) - but I have a couple of non-Guilds in a similar color palette, but yours is classier looking!

Thank you. I don't think I've ever seen another M-85 with that finish, even in a picture.

From catalogs and flyers, the M-85-2 was available in Sunburst, Cherry, Black, Walnut and Natural through most of it's run as a solid body bass. An undocumented Walnut Burst? We have seen undocumented finishes before that were unquestionably from the factory.
