Hello, not sure if you still have your '63 Polara or not, but if so I have a question for you.
Do you remember what the bridge studs screwed into in the body? Bushings?
I recently bought a '63 also, which had the bridge replaced with a Gibson style bridge. The weird thing is, the "studs" for the bridge are the early ABR kind, with just a 1/8" or so threaded post, and this is all that is going through the pickguard and into the body. I expected to see the larger holes from the hex head posts like you have, going through the pickguard and body, but it appears this guitar was never that way...
Any ideas?

Sorry guys...I haven't been here in a while...sometimes work interferes with life! I meant to respond earlier when I read this while traveling on business.

Honestly, I don't remember the exact configuration of the bridge studs. I haven't taken the bridge out since I took the pick guard off and don't remember. I recently took it to my luthier and had him replace the nut and set it up perfectly. I have actually grown quite fond of playing this now...so much that the S100 and Bluesbird rarely get any love anymore. What a phenomenally sweet tone from these pickups. I just love the tone I am getting from this guitar...I keep thinking it should be a closet queen, but I can't keep my hands off of it. I took it to a jam session with some of my friends recently and they were all pretty blown away...sat very squarely in the middle of the mix with my jam mates Les Paul and Teles. Seriously, a lot of warmth and a lot of bite. I have never played a guitar with this much lushness. To say I am smitten is an understatement!
