Yikes, back from the grave with this one. Too dry for two long, sad.

It looks like a factory order for Cherry, quite faded though, or more like a Brn with gold hardware.

If only the label was there.

Stamp says it all - D35. By 1976 I believe the D25 had the arched back (correct me if I'm wrong someone).
Nope, you're right, by '76 D25's had been arched back builds for at least 2 years already, starting in late '72 or early '73.

The finish and tuner "anomalies" are typical of Guild at the time: using whatever was on hand if there was a momentary parts shortage (as in tuners), and placing orders for non-standard finish colors was pretty easy, too.

I saw a black multicolored metal flaked D-25 on reverb the other day that was from the early 80’s. I imagine at Guild if you throw enough money at them they’ll paint it any color they have on hand.

Oh yeah, seen many price lists with a specific price for ordering non-standard finish colors, ie, finishes they offered but not "standard" on the model you wanted to order it on.

I can envision the panic: Holy crap, we just shipped out all our D 25s, and we have the catalog photo shoot on Friday. Call down to production. We need a cherry guitar quick.

Wasn’t there a cherry red D-40 kicking around? I know I seen a G-37 in red once.

Are you thinking of that Corona build which took me by surprise, too?:

Possibly, man if I was around during the Westerly years I’d bug them about making me a red D-40. I usually hate red guitars but for whatever reason the red on the D-25’s look nice. Probably because it reminds me of another favorite guitar color I like, wine red.
