Hi all!
I decided to email Guild/Fender to see if I can order a case for my 67' m20.
Well, I received an email back from Philip Trapp and he said I can order a case through an authorized dealer.
The case number is 006-5671-000.
How about that!
I suggest you all do the same!
Contact Fender/Guild and ask for your case #.
Jeff,Blues Dan,Hans,John Kidder and others-how cool is this?
See you all soon!

I found a Guild dealer catalog page on the internet. It lists part number 350-1075-228 "Standard case w burgundy interior" for M and F Series: M20 and F20.

I also called Fender and was put on hold for half an hour. Their customer service sucks now. Used to be able to call CA and actually speak with the techs!!!

I ended up calling TKL who makes Guild cases. They gave me a direct number at Fender.

Good luck finding the correct case!

Regards,
Perry

Hi Perry,
I don't call people-I email them!
Can you put up the link you found?
As for TKL, I think they were bought up by(or became) the Canadian brand.
I am going to the dealer near me(San Rafael Ca) and see what I can do.
I will see if I can get a number(s) for other guitars,or at least some info.
Take care all,
Jan

Well all,
I just got off the phone after ordering my new Guild case for my m20.
I got it through Bananas at Large in San Rafael Ca.
I dealt with Rick-great guy.
They had three, 2 left.
Have a good one.

Hi Jan,

Sorry for my late reply.
Here is the link for the only Guild dealer part number list I found.

http://www.aplauzaudio.pl/cenniki/GuildAplauz2006.pdf

List is in english, but prices listed are some foreign currency.
Cases are on page 5

I checked the Bananas website and did search on "Guild cases", nothing came up. When I searched just "Guild", only GAD models were listed :(

Whats up with this Bananas place?

Regards,
Perry

Hi Perry,
Like some dealers, they are an all purpose store.I have been there a few times over the years.
They have been in business a long time-I don't have to defend them.
As I said above, call your local authorized dealer and see if they can order one for you.
See ya,
Jan

Maybe you might call them.Or email. :?

Are these the same Banana's guys who sell Supro / Silvertone etc. T shirts and paraphenalia ?

If so, I have found them excellent people to deal with.

There seems to be some confusement with suppliers about which number is correct and I yet have not completely nailed it down.
A variation in year model confuses things.

Bing,

Local Guild dealer here researched the part number Sausgirl posted, part # existed but none in stock.

I toyed with the idea of ordering a half dozen but thought it best to wait & see if Sausgirl's case turns out to be the real deal.

You come up with solid supply, put me down for one. Chinese cases you know, wholesale price shouldn't be too bad, :? .

When you see the case look at the headstock outside end. The TKL cases have a white stick on tag there that has the TKL part number on it. If the store hasn't pulled it off.

I have been lurking since June, but I successfully bought a case recently...

I have a 1961 m-20 that fits like hand in glove (really) in a case fom Elderly Instruments:

http://elderly.com/accessories/items/GCEV-0.htm

The lower bout on my guitar is a hair under 13 1/2, were it any bigger, this case would not work at all. There is pretty much continuous contact through the whole body and shoulders of the guitar. There is a difference whether the end pin is in or not.

Besides, it is a good sturdy 5 latch case.

I'll put togher my profile before my next post. Glad to be a writer and not just a reader.

Hobo,

Thanks for the link.

I just measured my F 20, it's just a shade under 13 3/4 across the lower bout.

Both you & Elderly say it won't fit, dang it.

Thanks Hobo - that's a good link. I can't tell you how many web searches I've done trying to track down that "Canadian manufacturer" in the hopes of going direct to them - I believe they're in Quebec, but I'm damned if I can find them.

Thanks Hobo. That's interesting that your '61 M20 lower bout is a shade under 13 1/2". My '59 M20, like Jeffs older F20, is a hair under 13 3/4". Unfortunately that case won't work for me either, but its good to know. Taking a quick peak at Hans' book, apparently there were changes made in the size of the lower bout on the M20's during the course of their manufacture years.

Oh and welcome!

What to do ?? The case or the guitar.
