Hey Steven,
Not all thàt extremely wonderful in person - great guitar for sure - but essentially it's a standard recent X500 with Seymour Duncan antiquity P90's and a Bigsby. The neck pickup isn't in "the sweet spot" like on the old ones, the body is considerably deeper, and it sounds a good deal darker and tubbier than a vintage single coil Guild.

Now, if it had been the elusive X550P......

Hi Walter - I just checked on my my Corona x500, and the neck pickup is centered - not perfectly centered, but very close - under the 24th fret harmonic. Mines got the regular HBs. Maybe they weren't paying close attention with the p90s...

I didn't know that about recent X500's. Every Guild with the white single coil Franz pickups I've seen had the neck pickup in that exact spot, and there's obviously something to that "being the sweet spot" - they sound great! And it's hard to argue with a strat neck pickup sound too IMO.
It's something they did get right on the later X550P, by the way.
