Yep, I would think about $2500 would be fair, but I really have no idea.

I have an early '60's sunburst X175 with some nice flame on the back, so it's not unheard of (gratuitous photo follows):

Very nice, Jeff! "Gratuitous" or not, that is some beautiful flame!

Mid 60's X-175's in excellent condition tend to be listed for around $2500 lately. If this mid 50's version is all original and is as nice as it looks a selling price of $2500 would seem reasonable.

I thought the first pic looked a little distorted, nothing wrong with the guitar, just the pic. I'd love to play it.

That would probably explain the fancy wood then, right?

Yeah! It's probably the 'superstructure' of an X-375. So far I've seen quite a few of those.

Sincerely,

I was going to post that the X375 I had in the 1980's had a very flamey back, & here's Hans with the same idea! Mine looked almost identical to the one at archtop.com NEONMOONY linked to, except for the rhinestones someone had glued around the edge of the headstock! Very heavy guitar.

I thought it was probably the camera angle versus the positioning of the guit.

I have the same arch top, with slightly different parts. The back is the same beautiful figured maple, and the two knobs match. My serial nmbr and compan address lead me to believe it's a first year model, while the company was still out of NY. Yours could have had a recent refinishing done to it, which would explain it's perfect condition…
