I am thinking about pursuing a reissue. Here's the listing:
"Guild x150 D manufactured in Westerly Rhode Island).
I am second owner, serial number AK150159. Beautiful guitar, amazing action. I think it is of the 1997/1998. It does need the toggle switch replaced (it is physically there, just not working). The guitar is clean and practically plays itself. It includes the original GUILD hard shell case also super clean."

It is the two pickup SD-1 humbucker pickup version, antique sunburst finish...
What do you suppose she's worth?
Is this model strictly for jazz or is it a little more versatile - rock, country picking, etc?
Any info appreciated, particularly from owners.

I own a late '90's X-150D. First of all, if it's the D model, it has two pickups. If this is a single pickup originally it's simply an X-150 Savoy.

It does jazz very well. I've used mine for rock & blues succesfully, but always needing a little something extra with the HB-1 pickups. Also, it's an all maple laminate construction. Coil taps come in handy. Selector switch issue isn't anything odd. They were commonly scratchy, but my original switch still works like it should.

Value is another story. I think I've only seen one sell on ebay for over $1000 just recently. Otherwise they typically don't meet reserves. Very unfortunate in my book 'cause they are terrific instruments. We have another relatively new member who did some recording & posted links here. Trying to remember...I believe bradk? Also believe he won a pretty high profile contest with his recording & has a contract & endorsement deal out of the whole thing.

8) I have the single pup version, and it's one of my favorites. There is one on Archtops.com but it's on hold I believe. Worth an inquiry fursur - Steve

Hey guys...I was searching the forum trying to remember what my screename was so I could login and came across this old post. Just wanted to say thanks for the kind words and just to set the record straight, I didn't win no contract/endorsment. What I did win was a Gibson 335 and helluva good time in Hollywood for 3 days. That's about it.

Archiestone, just curious... did you end up with the X150? I got a blonde single p/u version last April and love it to death. It's the best guitar I've ever owned and that includes the $3000 Gibson I won in the contest. I'm thinking I need another...like maybe a sunburst X150 to go with the blonde. :D

I have the single PU version me too, and I really love it - Recently , a guy proposed me to swap with a 2 PU Heritage 550 and I prefered to keep my Savoy...
I play essentially Jazz with it; I know that's a question of personal taste but...it sounds particularly great with 13-56 gauge strings (strong and articulate sound)
