Looking to trade my 73 S100 Carved for a Starfire. See the resto thread here. Great looking guitar but the neck is too slender for me. A thicker neck Starfire would be great. Somone else can maybe chime in on what years were the thickest. PM me with an e-mail addy and I can send you a lot of more detailed pics

Actually I don't think Starfires ever had a real thick neck.

I would say that the 90's Starfires have the "thickest" necks... but what the H E double hockey sticks do I know.

My corona Starfire III-P90 has a Fat Baseball bat neck on it!!! Makes a Fender SRV Strat Neck feel like a tooth pick! That's a Good looking S100. Looks like it has a pair of NUTS on it!! Acorns that is.:rugby: Good luck with you Trading! If you are looking for a decent neck on a Starfire, I find that the early 2000's have the best Girth/shape to them. I have 3 Starfire's from this period (one 3-P90 from corona, one SF4 Nashville custom shop, and one SF5 from westerly). They all have necks that are similar to each other. All have a nice rounded U shape with a decent amount of wood on them. Not quite as big as an acoustic neck but not a little skinny one either. All have 1 11/16" nuts. Good luck!

The 60s jetstar/polara/thunderbird has a rounder/chunkyier neck than those. My 65 jetstar has a very chunky neck. Maybe trade for one of these.
