Your best choice for a Dred size Guild will be wither a GAD-40 or GAD-50.
There might be some NOS of the old GAD-40 and GAD-50 still in some shops, but both models as such are discontinued since quite some time.
The equivalent new models are the D-140 and D-150 (but as mentioned, both have a 1.6875" (42.8 mm) nut).
The most succesful selling GAD model is actually the all solid Mahogany D-125 which is also available in a nice Cherry Red now. But again with 1.6875" (42.8 mm) nut width.

Thank you everyone, I appreciate the help. And yes, I'm looking for a dread.
HI Thunder, welcome aboard.
Any particular reasson you're looking for a dreadnought? As pointed out by a couple of guys, they're going to have the 1-11/16 nut . I don't think Guild ever used anything else on 6-string dreadnoughts unless I missed it on one of the newer models (within the last 2 years).
I bring that up because I suspect you might find a nice very "young" (ie, used) F30 (Grand Orchestra body) that would fill the 1-3/4 nut requirement and fit the budget.
In fact, one of those'd be on my "bucket list" except I'm not real fond of the 1-3/4 nut.

I'm going to second the idea of a GAD D-125. The new cherry finish in Ralf's NAMM picture is very cool, but I can tell you first hand that with or without that they are mighty fine sounding guitars.

If you're not absolutely set on a dread, you might try an F130 (or a new old stock GAD-30). They have the nut width you want, and after decades of playing nothing but dreads I've become a big fan of the orchestra body style. You give up a bit in volume, and you gain in comfort, and you get your desired nut width. One thing I notice about the F130, though: the fingerboard radius is 16", which is fairly flat.

Thank you for all of the replies. I'm looking into each of the suggestions, thanks for the advice.

(So far I'm trying to narrow it down between the F130 and F150 and then between rosewood and mahogany)

I'll just stick to used models. Most of these can be found for less than $1K

Dreads in order of my preference

DV-52 My all time favorite.
D-40,50 (I can't tell you that I like my 72 D-40 more than my 2003 D-18 GE but its close)
D-25,35

Jumbo with less of an order of preference except the GF-25

GF-25 GF 40
F-30
F-47

And I would point out that Guild made some very fine Maple backed guitars.

Because that's what my old Guild that I sold was. Part of this is a sentimental purchase, granted that one wasn't a 1 3/4" nut, but that's what my d28p and d18 are, and I like it because I have a big hands. I'll look at the F30. thanks.

You might want to check out the latest in FS/FT.
