I'm looking for this out-of-print instructional book . . . I believe that the most recent edition included a CD, too.

Thanks in advance . . .

I believe I have a cassette tape for this book - somewhere...

But I do remember my jaw dropping when I heard his version of Stars And Stripes Forever. Yow!!

I have a couple of Ton Van Bergeyk tab books and I put the LPs on Disc as well if you're interested. I'll have to dig them out but let me know if that might help. Good arrangements of Silver Swan and Ragtime Nightmare along with all sorts of others if memory serves.

Yeah, it isn't every day that you hear a John Phillip Sousa march arranged for solo fingerstyle guitar.

Although I heard it live last Saturday night . . . Guy & clarinetist Billy Novick performed near us, & we caught their show. Two highly-skilled musicians, & both very approachable, as well. They agreed to do Stars & Stripes since it was a holiday weekend . . . definitely a crowd pleaser.

I'm really hoping I can find a copy of this book, I would love to tackle at least some of his easier arrangements. I am NOT sufficiently skilled to learn his style by ear.

I would have loved to see Guy play that thing - I bet he looked like he had 10 fingers on each hand.

I'm working on an arrangement of the Wedding Bell March for fingerstyle. It started innocently enough as the Monty Python theme then I realized it was a Sousa march after I had the first section down. Now I have to learn the whole danged thing...doh! :?

Good luck finding that book. If I run into it I'll post here.

I have seen this book... as I recall it's not an "instructional book", per se. These are transcriptions of Guy's arrangements. FYI.

Mark... I see you are in "metrowest MA". Why not give Guy a call? I believe he still lives in the greater Beantown area. Or you might be able to contact him through Berklee College.

I asked him about getting a copy of the book after seeing him perform a couple weekends ago . . . he said it was out of print, & currently only available to Berklee students (where he is teaching part-time). I didn't press him further since he didn't seem inclined to help me get a copy.

If I don't find the book in a couple more months I'll ask him again . . . I'll have to come up with a creative bribe first, though!
