Adddie,

Did they use the archtop cases only for archtop guitars, and flat top cases only for flat top guitars?

That's the only logo I don't need.

Must confess to ignorance on that point, but the visual evidence (for the era you cite)indicates that there's an arched-top dread case out there, and those are definitely flat-tops, as well as arched top cases for jumbos, which are also flat-tops, so my guess is that it had more to do with the place of the specific guitar in the model hierarchy. Arched top cases are supposed to offer better protection against top impacts, so I'm thinking they were probably offered with the higher end guitars. And back then you could just buy a standalone case, if maybe you wanted to upgrade for example.
The F65ce came with an arched top case with small G-shield logo, but that's got to be a very uncommon case due to the shallow depth of the instrument. I don't think it could have done double duty as a case for electrics like a Bluesbird either, although it probably fit a few other A/E's, like the Songbirds.
Counterpoint is the D40 came with an arched top case, just for reference. It's a Corona so the question is "Was that standard for Corona, or standard for D40's and up?"
It'd be interesting to get some input from D30/40/50/55 ownwers, who got ther guitars with cases.
